Peter Singer wins Australia’s highest honour

Congratulations to Peter Singer on being awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s birthday honours lists.

As anyone familiar with Giving One Percent will know, Singer’s work in The Life You Can Save is an enormous influence on our mission of supporting a culture of giving in Australia.

And as Singer says, “Obviously some of my views are controversial and that hasn’t stopped me receiving this honour. That suggests we are a tolerant society that values a diversity of views.”

Now let’s set about being a tolerant society that values a diversity of views and gives generously to eliminating global poverty.

Warm congratulations and salutations to you, Peter Singer.
